Be the Lifeblood for Australia

The National Blood Authority is strongly connected to the Australian Red Cross Lifeblood. On behalf of all Australian governments, we manage Australia’s national blood arrangements, including the collection of blood and plasma by Lifeblood. All governments strongly encourage blood and plasma donation by anyone who is able to do so, as often as they can.

Blood donations of all types are always needed, with 1 in 3 Australians needing blood in their lifetime. Blood donors save and improve lives every day and their valuable and precious contributions underpin Australia’s world class blood supply.
